Two-up ATV Safety
Riding two-up is tons of fun, but there are some basic safety considerations you should take before heading out on the trail. First, every rider needs all the standard safety equipment for ATV use. This includes a proper helmet, gloves, goggles, long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy boots. Next, kids should never ride on an adult ATV, even if they're the passenger. Youth ATVs are built to maximize a young rider's safety, but the increased weight of an adult ATV can be dangerous if something goes wrong. Finally, never try and push a single rider ATV by putting on a rider. It can seem tempting when utility ATVs put large inviting cargo racks behind the rider's seat, but any ATV that's not made for two-up riding will be unbalanced and suffer poor performance, which can easily lead to a flip or roll.
